The Team

Welcome to the Hallo Sopron blog!

Our blog is run entirely by volunteers, of which team’s main goal is to present Sopron’s rich cultural life and program lineups by photos. As our slogan suggests, not only Sopron’s residents gain insight into ongoing programs of their city, but foreigners and the curious incoming tourists as well. Next to the fact that our members take photos, we also participate in lots of events and we are open to get known with more and more interesting people. We also believe that our relations with others, enriches our personalities. We hope Dear Visitor, that you will find yourself on our pictures and experience the life of Sopron through our pictures.

If you also want to volunteer by photographing and capturing the values of Sopron, please come and join the team.

If you would like to see a photo report of an event that you organized or of any that you represented or you just simply know of any in your area, please feel free to recommend it to us.

László Karácsony

executive, photojournalist

I am taking photos since 2004, which first was only a hobby but later it has become a profession and a certain life goal. I am active member of Sopron Photographer Club since 2010, so I can proudly say that I am taking part of the club's life, which is up since 1906.

I come from Sepsiszentgyorgy, the heart of Szekelyfold. I'm currently attending the University of West Hungary, Sopron, studying Sales and Marketing. When I still was in high school, I started feeling the desire in me and also the goal to put accent on photography in the near future.
Now that I am studying in Sopron and tasting the hidden treasures of this city, I discovered how splendid cultural, youth and age independent events are here that I feel necessary to capture.

Krisztian Gazsovics

photojournalist

Since I was born, I am live in Sopron and named Krisztian. I turned 22, I graduated as a logistics officer from Andrew Fay Economics, Business and Post High School. During my studies I realized that I am interested in photography and the universe of filmmaking. For two years since 2010, I studied as a cameraman in Budapest, where I have gained connections in the world of media. Therefore, my interest is mainly in this direction. I hope I can do this for as long as I can. By the way, I like writing too, but I don't want to start talking about it here, it would be too long.

Adam Makar

photojournalist

Hi everyone! My name is Adam Makar, a 17-year-old student from Sopron. I am doing pretty much everything in my free time. I started out in photography six months ago after which, in creating websites one year ago. I am working with Photoshop (creating animations, editing images and drawing posters) so far for five years. I am doing these activities daily, as if they would make part of my life. Next to these, I like to go to theatres, meet with my friends. The rest of my time, I spend in high school.

As for the photography and image editing styles, I am favoring abstract and minimal, the clean and simple work, in which I have more or less success. I also like shooting images of everything I think it earns a shot. If I had to choose a topic which fits me, I would say: nature. Recently, I am working with a Nikon D3100 camera, which I got from a good friend of mine.

Daniel Illes

executive coordinator

I was born in the town famous for its name called „Queen of the West”. It’s real name is Szombathely. I also spent my elementary and high school life there, and mostly my 22 years as well.
Recently, I study in the town known as „Civitas Fidelissima”-„Town of Loyalty”, in real Sopron at the University of West Hungary, Faculty of Economics. I have been attending at this university and „abrasive its benches” for two years. The idea of living and working in the world of news and blogs was conceived in me at my high school age. Life has stranded me in the orbit of an economist, so I have got a taste of all these underlying attitudes as an economist sees as well. I love Sopron. I like the city. I feel at home in it, and I see it as my second home. I can get a sip of the city’s colorful cultural life. I actively monitor and experience its theatrical life as well. I think everyone can find its favorite entertainment for himself, and, like a sparkling capital, also mingle in a storm of free programs.

Peter Penzel

My name is Peter Penzel, I am coming from the Carpathians and live in Sopron for about 10 years now. I am taking pictures since my childhood, but I am seriously photographing since a few years. At first, I did it for my fine art and computer graphics work but later I became a photographer of Foto Uno Studio in Sopron. Since a couple of years, I am a freelance photographer and practicing as an artist in photography. Both computer manipulated images, reportage, portrait and nude photos are on my list of interests. In 2011, in an exhibition of Sopron Photo Club, I received a special award for „Creativity”.

Zoltan Papp

Administrator

I am Zoltan Papp, 24 years old. I was born in a small village near the Castle of Sümeg, in Sümegprága. I spent my years of secondary technical school in Keszthely, in the capital of Lake Balaton. In those years, I already knew that I want to come to Sopron, to the University of West-Hungary. It is my second year at the university on the Faculty of Economics. I really like to live in this old but also beautiful town which hosts a lot of cultural events. I have always considered “The Town of Loyalty” as a storehouse of possibilities, and I finally found one, it is called Hallo Sopron.

Szilamer Palfi

Project coordinator

I was born in Szentgyörgy, in Transylvania, in the heart of Székelyföld. I have been involved in the world of media for 8 years.
At the beginning, I was trying to build up my carrier by radio, and parallel to this, I was editor and reporter for different local, weekly and monthly magazines.
I have been coordinating a similar project to Halló Sopron in Székelyföld for 6 years.
I believe that the enthusiastic media team in Sopron will have such big success in the future, as we have every day. This belief strengthen us to reach the goals that are viable and feasible for our team.
